Summary: To provide grant assistance to marine and electrical engineers - Royal Navy or Merchant Navy - who possess or have possessed Certificates of Competency. The Guild also assists the dependants of Engineers as well as past and present members of IMarEST - including marine scientists and their dependants - who are in need. This financial support is by way of a grant (eg: children/family grants) when the seafarer or family can not afford the expenditure themselves.
Note/Restrictions: No minimum service, but service as a Certificated Marine Engineer or Electrical Engineer, Mercantile or Naval, or dependant of such person, any nationality, anywhere. No restrictions on age or gender. Incorporating the Marine Engineers Benevolent Fund.
